I've been keeping to myself a bit more lately, not that it's a hard thing to do as the suite has generally been becoming less communicative throughout the school year anyway. I spend more time in my room, only really venturing out for classes, my internship, and food. That may be because I was quite sick for the last few weeks plus I just got back from Spring Break though. We shall see in the coming weeks.
Spring Break, what can be said about it?
The first half of it I was terribly sick but I still managed to go see 'Hellboy' and a whole bunch of Family Guy episodes with C***, D***, A***, and J*******. Hellboy wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen but it was in no way good. I also managed to type and email a report and book critique that were due the week before break started.
During the second half of the break, I :
1 ) read an entire book on Shamanism. The book on Shamanism was actually pretty interesting, as parts of it were related to transcendental psychology/existentialism and this was something that had sparked my interest when I saw a couple of articles on it last school year. Also I value the idea that one must suffer to truly reach any higher level. I have no doubt that what shamans do is real and that they are at the very least a grand resource, not to be put down or trifled with. One does not need to follow the ways of the shaman to understand and respect the him/her for what he/she does.
2) went to Virginia Beach with C***, which was a wonderful change in atmosphere. Even though it was kind of cold, walking on the beach, the boardwalk, and around the town was quite enjoyable, as was having C*** all to myself. As I have a natural affinity for water and beaches, being in a hotel right on the boardwalk was a dream come true. I only wish the trip could have lasted forever, but one needs to return to the reality of responsibility eventually.
