Perhaps I forgive others so easily in hopes that they too will forgive me when the time comes to do such a thing. Perhaps I do it because I am a caring human being without an inch of hate in my soul. Perhaps the ability to forgive is a genetic trait, like the ability to curl one's tongue or to smell marijuana. Perhaps I believe that it is not my place to punish those who do wrong against myself and/or others. Perhaps those religious education classes I took when I was younger really taught me a thing or two. Perhaps I never truly do forgive anyone but silently hold grudges that even I am not aware of against all those who have wronged me...grudges that will die only when I am in my grave.
I believe in justice, but I do not believe that justice is just. I believe in justice in the same way that I believe in aardvarks. I know aardvarks exist, or that they once did, but I have no idea where I would find them or if they are all extinct. The same could be said of my view of justice.
EDIT: Aardvarks can be found in Southern Egypt and various parts of Africa. Perhaps I shall find justice here as well? I sadly do not believe justice shall be as easy to find as aardvarks were.
