Introduction:

The name is Sxxxxxxxx...I usually go by Fxxxxx but as I'm growing older I'm beginning to feel a longing to identify with my more respectable classic name.

I'm graduating from the university that I'm at now in May with a Bachelor degree in Social Work. Currently I am filling out applications for two graduate schools, neither of which I'm really sure I want to go to, but one of which I will despite this. I intern two days a week in the Mental Health Day Program at Covenant House NY (a crisis center for homeless youth), and I enjoy it, though I'm not sure if I'm making any difference in any of my clients' lives.

I have a boyfriend who lives near one of the colleges and pretty far from me. One of my suitemates says that we have "the strangest relationship" because of the idea that it saddens him to know I'm doing something that makes me happy. I think it's understandable, considering the circumstances (he works all the time and rarely gets to see me or any of his friends). He has my guitar, a bunch of video games, and his art supplies to entertain him, so he's not completely miserable, or so I think. He has a 5 month old daughter that he completely adores and who seems to have taken a great liking to him as well from what I hear. He tries to see her every weekend.

Our plan is that he'll get an apartment soon and, when I graduate, I will move in with him upstate. Then, in the fall, I will work toward my MS in College and Agency Counseling with concentration in Community Counseling and he will begin working toward his BA in Graphic Design/ Industrial Art. At some point, possibly during the summer, I will learn how to drive decently. If living together works well for at least a year to five years we can start talking about marriage. I've been engaged twice before, but they say the third's the charm, right?

Right now, I live in a suite with five other girls in one of my university's dormitories.

My roommate, Exxxx, is wonderful and so is her boyfriend, Exxxxx, who is here almost as often as she is. She doesn't drink or party and she's sort of innocent, but I think of these as plusses. Both of them are a bit quirky in their own ways, but neither have any really irritating traits from what I've experienced. They take great enjoyment in popping one another's acne...which is a bit strange but I've done it, so I somewhat understand it.

In the room next to mine live Kxxxxxx and Mxxxxxx. Kxxxxxx transferred here from a college down South last semester but she's from Connecticut. She goes out to the bars with Mxxxxxx and sometimes me, but she's usually the designated driver so she doesn't drink too much. I admire her uber-bar smoothness though, you know you're good when you can have fun and pick up as many men as her at a bar without drinking. She has the advantage due to her lack of beer goggles. She's super sweet and has that Southern charm down to a tee. Mxxxxxx is our loveable drunk, though she's been a bit more sober this year than she was last year. She's a playah with a heart of gold. She insults people and harrasses people when she likes them, so all of us get a good share of harrassment but, as we know her, we forgive her. She also plays Rugby on occasion and has a bit of a thing for cleaning this year, possibly due to how disgusting our suite was last year.

At the end of our suite hallway are Kxxxxxx and Dxxxxx. Kxxxxxx is the youngest of all of us, but she's probably one of the most mature. She's sarcastic in a pretty nice way, she drinks, and she's great to talk to about anything (except old people's sex organs). She likes computer games and a few other geeky things, but we can forgive this. Dxxxxx just transferred to our university this semster, so we've only known her for a week. Thusfar she seems like she'll fit in well. She's a bit quiet, but nice and sociable enough. We'll corrupt her soon enough.
